If you are going to have a new born in your family, then you must have to learn the child care services and the baby feeding guide before they arrive.
Babies are amazing, but they have the capability to wake you up for all night. They spit, make a lot of dirty diapers and dribbles but cant walk, cant tell you what they need and cant even go to the bathroom. That is why they need so much care and love. The mom and dad of the newborn gets busy with the baby to provide the baby newborn baby care with proper food, rest, love and most importantly clean diapers when he/she needs it. Just because the parents are engaged with your newborn siblings all the time, that doesn't mean they don't care for you or love you anymore- they just care for the baby too.
The feelings of having a new born in the home is undoubtedly wonderful, but also tiresome. You may love the baby from the very beginning or can miss the days when the baby was not with you. If you feel anytime that you are not getting enough attention or if you are feeling left out, then you must consult with your parents to solve out things. You can also share the problems like if you are not having enough sleep or facing problems to finish homework.
Things to know before the baby arrives
A baby takes nine months time to grow enough big to be born. Before the newborn arrives, you can ask your parents if you have any questions related to the baby. Such as: who will be with you while everyone of your family will be in the hospital? What will be the baby's sleeping place? Some of the hospitals provides special classes for the kids who are going to be elder brother/sister. These classes help the kids to learn about their newborn siblings.
Elder siblings can also learn about their newborn brother/sister from the library books about child care services or baby feeding guide. But, spending quality time with the babies can be the best way to know them. Your mom and dad can plan to take you in someone's house who have newborn baby. You can see him/her and can learn how the babies look like, make sound or smell.
About the newborn little person:
While giving birth to the newborn, your mom will spend a week in the hospitals. You can visit your mom after the baby is delivered. Then you can see the baby for the first time.
Expect your little brother or sister to be tiny, squirmy, red-faced, and sleepy. The newborn babies are too small to play peekaboo or play with the toys. At this time the kid is getting accustomed with the new world. As time will pass, the baby would be able to laugh or smile at you and play with. But in the early days, babies mostly like to eat, snuggle and sleep. So, its essential to maintain the newborn baby care guidelines.
What can you do when the baby arrives at home?
In the early days when the baby comes home, you can be a great help to your parents. If you are old enough, then you may be able to manage to feed your baby according to the baby feeding guide or hold your baby brother/sister. Before that, you have to learn the rules to rake care of the new born and then you can also engage your other grown up friends to help you. If you are not grown-up then you can help your parents in some other jobs like putting on the socks of the baby.
Elder kids can also help their parents in several other ways like they can work as a personal assistant of their parents. Such as: to run around the home and to get the staffs (diaper, towel, pacifier) your parents need for the baby.
Another works the grown-ups can do are: answering over the phone, folding the cloths of the newborn, getting a drink for their dear mother when she is tired or busy. You can also make a magic by cheering up the baby when he/she is cranky.
You can even read the new-born a book. The newborn baby will definitely not make it out what you are saying but they will listen to the sound of your voice and can even drift off to sleep. Doing this task, you can help your parents so that they can relax that time and can spend some time together.
When a new born arrives at the home, several changes take place, most of the changes are good. Babies are like a bundle of joy and before you get aware the little bundle of joy will crawl, sit up, walk, run or even will play hide and seek with you all.
